Most of Australia’s existing armed forces could be destroyed in a few minutes.
Hostile forces could then be deployed from ‘Trojan Cargo Ships’ to take over all the major coastal cities.
| Minute | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Nuclear blasts – Canberra and ADF bases in remote areas. A likely focus on bases with significant concentrations of military assets (Amberley, Tindal, Edinburgh, etc.) An invading force may avoid nuclear blasts that would impact ‘their’ nationals or cause unnecessary civilian casualties. |
| 2 | All naval ships at anchor sunk using submarine launched missiles |
| 3 | Naval vessels at sea sunk by other submarines, long-range missiles, etc. |
| 4 | Hostile forces begin deploying from “trojan cargo ships” at docks in all coastal Australian cities. |
120 | All major Australian coastal capital cities under control of the invading force. |
Complications
Australia’s old Collins Class submarine(s) would be a complication for the invader as they probably don’t know where they are.
Several incoming vessels could be sunk by the Collins Class before they could be eliminated. (As the Collins Class use old lead-acid batteries that have to be charged daily they are far more vulnerable than modern submarines.)

Avoiding this scenario
The following key steps are needed to avoid the above:
- Distribute and hide military assets so they cannot be seen by the thousands of satelites above.
- Get rid of hopelessly vulnerable naval ships that cannot be protected.
- Quickly pivot to advanced non-nuclear submarines that can be delivered in a few years and which we can actually afford to buy.
- Invest in thousands of hidden anti-ship missiles.
